What is Smart Move?
"Smart Move" is an initiative to reduce CO2 emissions by devising various means of transportation that we use on a daily basis.
Approximately 20% of the CO2 that causes global warming comes from "movement" such as commuting to work, school, shopping, and travel (per household).
In order to improve this current situation, "Smart Move" is spreading across the country. By engaging in "smart moves," you not only reduce CO2 emissions, but also improve your health and comfort by moving your body.
Effects of using a bicycle
Changing your means of transportation from buses, trains, and taxis to bicycles can have a variety of benefits.
CO2 reduction effect
First, it can reduce CO2 emissions associated with transportation.

Private car/taxi: 162g/person km
Bus: 57g/person km
Electric car: 50g/person km
Railway: 17g/person km
Bicycle/walk: 0g/person km

Cycling is an aerobic exercise that involves cycling for a certain distance for a certain period of time. Since you are traveling long distances, you can expect to burn body fat through aerobic exercise, and you can also expect health benefits such as improving muscular endurance and cardiovascular function.
